The Telangana State government approved projects totaling Rs 826 crore for the construction of grade separators at six major junctions near Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (KBR) Park.

This initiative aims to facilitate smoother traffic flow at these busy signals.

Known as the HCITI Junction Improvement initiative, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has pinpointed six key junctions surrounding KBR Park.

These junctions experience heavy traffic due to work, business, and commercial activities, with connections to software companies in Madhapur, Hitech City, Gachibowli, and Kondapur.

Currently, these locations rely on traffic signals and U-Turns, according to GHMC officials.

In response to the need for improved traffic management, the plan includes grade separators for the six junctions around KBR Park, divided into two packages totaling Rs 826 crore.

The design will create a conflict-free area, eliminating signals around KBR Park for uninterrupted traffic flow. Vehicles traveling clockwise will use a series of underpasses, while those going counterclockwise will navigate through flyovers.

The GHMC has also included rainwater retention structures in the underpass designs to prevent flooding during monsoon rains, as stated in a press release.

Package I (Rs 421 crore) includes:

Jubilee Hills checkpost: A Y-shaped underpass from Road No. 45 to KBR and Yousufguda, a four-lane flyover from KBR Park entrance towards Road No. 36, and a two-lane flyover from Yousufguda towards Road No. 45.

KBR entrance and Mugdha Junction: A two-lane underpass from Jubilee Hills checkpost to Cancer Hospital junction, a three-lane unidirectional road from Punjagutta to Jubilee Hills checkpost, and a three-lane underpass from KBR entrance to Punjagutta.

Package II (Rs 405 crore) consists of:

Road No. 45 Junction: A two-lane underpass from Filmnagar junction to Jubilee Hills checkpost and a two-lane flyover from Jubilee Hills checkpost to Road No. 45.

Filmnagar Junction: A two-lane underpass from Maharaja Agrasen junction to Road No. 45 and a two-lane flyover from Film Nagar junction to Maharaja Agrasen junction.

Maharaja Agrasen Junction: A two-lane underpass from Cancer Hospital junction to Film Nagar junction and a two-lane flyover from Film Nagar junction to Road No. 12.

Cancer Hospital Junction: A two-lane underpass from KBR Park side to Maharaja Agrasen junction and a two-lane flyover from Maharaja Agrasen junction to Road No. 10.
